WE USE MODERN AND UP-TO-DATE SCIENTIFIC TEACHING METHODS FOR LEARNING THE ART OF BRAZILIAN JIU-JITSU! OUR CLASSES ARE CONSISTENT, FOCUSED, AND DIRECT WITH DELIBERATE SKILL-SET DEVELOPMENT THROUGH PRINCIPLE-BASED LEARNING!
OUR MAIN GOAL IS TO TEACH YOU IMMOBILIZATION AS IT LEADS TO STRANGULATION AND BREAKING
WE USE THE ECOLOGICAL APPROACH IN PRACTICE. THIS MEANS THAT CONTEXT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PIECE OF WHY A MOVEMENT IS WHAT IT IS, AND ALL TRAINING PROTOCOLS SHOULD BE LIVE AND AGAINST UNSCRIPTED AND UNCOOPERATIVE RESISTANCE. WITHIN THAT, WE USE THE CONSTRAINTS-LED APPROACH, WHICH INVOLVES REMOVING OPPORTUNITIES FOR ACTION OR MOVEMENT SO SPECIFIC SOLUTIONS EMERGE. OUR APPROACH TO TEACHING
WE USE TWO APPROACHES FOR TEACHING BRAZILIAN JIU-JITSU (BJJ): SITUATIONAL SPARRING AND TASK-BASED GAMES. IN SITUATIONAL SPARRING, STUDENTS INTERACT WITHIN SPECIFIC SITUATIONS, SUCH AS STARTING IN THE MOUNTED POSITION, WITH PREDEFINED GOALS AND CONSTRAINTS.
THIS METHOD ASSUMES STUDENTS ALREADY HAVE SOME BJJ KNOWLEDGE. IN CONTRAST, TASK-BASED GAMES PROVIDE HUMAN-CENTRIC TASKS, LIKE PUSHING AN OPPONENT OFF OR KEEPING FEET IN FRONT, WHICH ARE RELATABLE AND UNDERSTANDABLE TO BEGINNERS.
THIS APPROACH SOLVES PROBLEMS BY CREATING HUMAN PROBLEMS FIRST, ALLOWING STUDENTS TO LEARN THE CONTEXT AND THEN THE SOLUTION.

WE USE SCALING TECHNIQUES FOR NEW STUDENTS AND BEGINNERS SO THAT THEY ARE RELATIVE TO THEIR ABILITIES AND CONTEXT. WE MANIPULATE TIME, PARTNER SELECTION, AND COMPLEXITY OF TASKS TO INCREASE THE SCALE OF DIFFICULTY, SUCH AS IN THE MOUNT POSITION, WITH SIMPLER GOALS FOR BEGINNERS AND MORE COMPLEX ONES FOR ADVANCED PLAYERS.
